"Mrs. Laura Bush, wife of George Bush, the Governor of Texas, came to the South Texas Institute for the Arts, she as a special interest in the artwork of Annabel Livermore, and other artist. Mrs. Bush arrived at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, February 27.

The work of Annabel Livermore, consisting on panel and over a dozen watercolors, naturally divides itself into three areas, night scenes, mountains behind fertile fields, and dry land intersected by the river. Each one of them is embellished by the power of Miss Livermore's imagination. While she placed her feet on the ground before these magnificent scenes during the heat of the day, and the dark cool nights, she experienced more than she saw with her eyes. Her paintings are also dream-like, revealing the unseen mysteries of the place."
